Dear Friends,

B.Krishna. And also he presented this book to various scholars like Prof. Ramji

Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madras, Maharashtra etc. He met several scholars who are
regularly taking benefits of SPPIS online work.
On the second day he presented his paper entitled.
"Re-Visiting Philosophy of Social Change in Indian Context" in Social Philosophy section. In this paper an attempt is made to draw an outline of
Indian theories of social change available in contemporary time. He said,
"To transform the Indian society into one where there is genuine
development and respect for human rights, five approaches we have dealt with
would be of immense value. Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian
Constitution, had immense faith in democracy and peoples’ capacity to create
not only political but also social and economic democracy and he provided the
tools for it in the Constitution. Mahatama Gandhi’s conception of Satyagarha
can play an important role in present time. For Saheed Bhagat Singh and Marx
the very aim of philosophy was to change the world and create a classless
society rather than interpret it. What India needs today is not merely economic
growth but inclusive growth and ever widening choices for all that is
envisioned and advocated by Amartya Sen. In conclusion, only a people's movement involving the masses with the
abovesaid ideologies can bring the cure to the ills of this country." Paper also published in conference volume
entitled, Satyam, Shivam, Sundram.
